Slimming World helped bride Chloe Dixon, Rainham, lose weight for her wedding

Every bride wants to look their best on their wedding day.

But for Chloe Dixon, from Rainham, she was so keen to lose weight for her wedding, that she made her first move towards it a few months after she got engaged to Miles.

The 27-year-old’s wedding was booked for October, so she had a year to slim into the dress of her dreams.

Chloe joined her local Slimming World group run by consultant Jess George.

She said: “The main reason I joined Slimming World was because I wanted to lose weight for our wedding. At the time we got engaged I was a size 18 - the biggest I had ever been and I knew I needed to do something about my weight.

“When I joined I was surprised by the amount of food that I could eat while following the Food Optimising plan.

“I made my meal plan for the week and with support from Miles, I started food optimising. It took about two weeks to fully understand the plan to know what the free foods, healthy extras and sins were.”

Chloe’s weight loss journey had highs and lows, but going to the group every week gave her the support she needed.

At her last weigh-in five days before the wedding her total weight loss was 3st 8.5lbs.

“I felt amazing in my size 12 wedding dress of my dreams,” said Chloe.

“I continue to go to the group as I am still on my weight loss journey but I’m so proud of what I achieved for our wedding day. I look back and smile at the person in the photos.”

Her advice to anyone thinking about joining is: “Stepping through those doors on your first day may well be the scariest feeling ever but you will be welcomed by friendly faces and can make friends for life, I know I have.”
